Singapore's New Work Pass: Attracting Top AI and Tech Talent (2026)

Singapore's foreign workforce policies are evolving to attract top talent in AI and tech. A new track under the Overseas Networks and Expertise (One) Pass will be introduced in January 2027, replacing the existing Tech Pass. The One Pass (AI and Tech) offers a five-year work pass, renewable for five years, targeting high earners in AI and tech. To qualify, applicants must meet specific criteria, including a monthly salary of at least $30,000 or a combination of salary and non-cash components like stock options. This new pass aims to strengthen Singapore's position as a hub for critical and emerging technologies. Additionally, the government is expanding the Non-Traditional Source (NTS) Occupation List to include eight new occupations in food services, social services, and air transportation, allowing employers to hire higher-quality workers from non-traditional source countries. These changes reflect Singapore's commitment to adapting its policies to meet the demands of a rapidly changing economy and workforce.
